Description

Peach was the club that brought thousands of people together every single week, and who remain friends to this today. It was the most successful Friday night in London that was more than just a club, it was like a family. Tiesto, Armin and Ferry all played there first UK dates along with The Flash Brothers and Abel Ramos, 2 relatively new names to the UK. Now both in the DJ Mag Top 100, they graced the decks at Peach’s home for 7 years, The Camden Palace, over 4 years ago. That shows the foresight of the night’s main resident, Graham Gold. Graham himself is topping a poll on Harder Faster as London’s most influential resident ever, with over 40% of the vote and over 20% ahead of John Digweed, at No 2 in the poll.

It also boasted the UK’s most forward thinking music policy. Pele’s house and progressive sets at 10pm, breaks from the mighty Darren Pearce (JDS) at 12, trance from Graham and guest at 1.30 and hard trance from Dave Lambert at 4.30. Musically the night was never about hit after hit, in fact 80% of what was played each week was the freshest new music each DJ could get their hands on.

Paul Oakenfold was the special guest at 2 of the birthday parties, which came just a week after Ministry Of Sound celebrated their birthday, and Oaky was very quick to say which one he preferred to play!!

From it’s sell out first night at Legends in London’s Old Burlington Street, to the plush Café De Paris, and onto the cavernous (and infamous) Leisure Lounge in Holborn, Peach hit capacity week after week after week, all this achieved WITHOUT ANY GUESTS!! There is not a club in the land that can boast that record!! It was the move to the Palace that first saw the big names appear, and there is hardly any of the worlds top DJ’s that didn’t play there and certainly every one who did, demanded to be re-booked!

It was only when the move to an untested venue in South London that brought about it’s demise, after venue owners, Luminar, sold The Palace.

The Peach brand flourished in Sheffield, Liverpool, Newcastle and Hull as main resident Graham Gold was the presenter behind Friday Night Kiss which was networked across all of Emap’s Big City radio stations which took in these major cities.

Because Peach was such an institution, and with current “Bring Back Peach” campaigns on the forums of Londons clubbing sites, it is only right that the jewel in UK clubbing returns, and this time it will be bigger than ever. The brand has been bought by Dave Oliver, a very successful club and bar owner in the Midlands, and he is determined to see Peach once again return to the forefront of clubbing, not just in the Uk but across the world.

4 nights have initially been locked down at London’s prestigious Heaven, just off The Strand. The re-launch will be Friday March 30th, and expect a Peach that even the 2,800 clubbers that attended the annual birthdays at Camden will not have seen the like of!
